As sentient beings, we all have our own perceptions of the way the world works. Perceptions of it's inner mechanics. How we perceive our lives is what makes us human, however sometimes we are loathe to view things from a different perspective. We fear seeing things differently because as humans, we instinctively don't like change. It's in our nature, every fiber of our being. This brings me to the purpose of my blog.
My blog will be about seeing Berea from a bunch of different perspectives. It'll show Berea in the diverse light that it portrays itself in. My blog will delve deep into the weird, the strange, the beautiful and even some tragic things that can happen on this campus that we don't naturally perceive because we choose not to.
Now a successful medium for showing all these different perspectives is to use fiction. And fiction is almost always awesome to use. So in that sense, I will show anybody who is willing to lend an ear, or an eye, in the sense that you read with your eyes, Berea as if it were a pirate ship or a spaceship or even a self-sustaining soundproof facility deep in the Midwest where they keep aliens.
Those who enjoy a good pirate ship, please enjoy the show. Those who don’t, please enjoy the show.
This is Berea how I see it, and soon everybody will see it in so many different and beautiful ways. Or tragic ways...I haven’t really decided yet.

ReplyDeleteInteresting ideas, but what specific world will you be observing? Of course it is your world, but which part of the world?
This sounds like an excellent way to bring in the use of metaphor or allegory!
